PRODUCERS
When you market your cattle through Midwestern Cattle Marketing, LLC (MCM), you gain the advantage of working with a team that has 100+ years of combined experience in all aspects of the cattle industry. Our expert Field Representatives guide you through every step of the sales process, and ensure you get the full range of benefits from our services, including reduced cost, healthier and less stressed cattle, and the convenience of conducting the sale from the comfort of your office or home.
By working with MCM, many typical sale barn expenses are avoided, such as commission, feed, yardage, insurance, and transportation costs. In addition, you avoid the "invisible" costs of doing business at an auction house, such as those associated with having a limited number of buyers the day of your sale, cattle shrinkage, and cattle health concerns.
Because we present your cattle at the auction through high quality videos or photos taken in their natural environment, they remain healthy and stress-free. Cattle are moved only once, from producer location to buyer location, following the sale.
MCM‘s Video Auctions and eCowAuctions use the most accurate form of price discovery available–competitive bidding. With competitive bidding, producers receive the best possible price for their cattle, generated from a nationwide selection of interested buyers.
We charge a fixed rate for consignment, so the price you will pay is clear from the start. You save time and money with no travel requirement to finalize sales. With MCM, our Field Representatives take care of all the details. From the time our Field Representative completes the consignment contract with you, until the time the cattle are loaded onto the buyer's truck, personal hands-on attention is provided to make sure the sales contract is adhered to.
Private Treaty Sales
Our private treaty (country listings) transactions enable you to market your cattle directly to our affiliated buyers through our web site, by notifying the buyers immediately through text messaging or e-mail that your cattle have been listed for sale. We draw on the relationships we've established during our years in the industry to match producers and buyers to facilitate successful transactions.
Producers interested in this type of marketing should contact Jason O'Connell at 308.249.5114, and provide us with a description of the cattle you have available. Take advantage of the hundreds of relationships we have built to find qualified buyers.
Remember, effecient and effective means less expense and more to your bottom line!

Video Auctions
MCM‘s Video Auction services are a partnership between MCM–which locates the cattle, interfaces with producers, and handles payments–and Western Video Market (WVM), which hires the auctioneers, sets the dates and locations, and broadcasts the auction on the day of the sale. By combining the expertise and skills of each of these companies, this partnership has proven to be strong and effective.
Video Auctions are a well-established marketing mechanism growing in popularity because of the economic advantages and ability to market a large number of stocker/feeder cattle.
Fifty percent of the auctions are physically conducted at Shasta Livestock Auction Yard in Cottonwood, California. The other 50 percent are conducted at locations throughout the West and Midwest. Large screen TV monitors are set up for livestock viewing, providing producers and buyers an experience that is very close to being in the pasture with the cattle! Buyers are able to bid on location or by calling into a bank of telephones manned to take "live" call-in bids. Our auctions provide a fast-paced environment with a nationwide bidding audience.
Getting Started
Once you contact MCM, a Field Representative will view the cattle in their natural surroundings and complete a consignment contract that describes the cattle and the terms and conditions of the sale. The Representative will also capture video images of the cattle in their natural environment that deliver a fair representation of the cattle. The consignment contract is forwarded to the Sidney, Nebraksa office where the information is entered into a database, and a catalog is prepared for your sale. The Video Auction catalog can be viewed on our web site one week prior to the auction.
Viewing an Auction
On auction day, producers and buyers may (1) be present at the auction site, (2) view the auction via Dish Network, Channel 219, or (3) view it on the Internet, at view it on the Internet, from the comfort of their office or home.
The Video Auction is conducted by an auctioneer as cattle are sold to buyers bidding at the auction site, via telephone, or online. After the cattle are sold, a livestock contract stating the terms and conditions of the sale is prepared.
Delivery
Following the auction, the MCM Field Representative contacts all parties to arrange the delivery. On the day of delivery, the MCM Representative is present to oversee the sorting and loading of the cattle. At delivery, the producer is issued a check drawn on MCM‘s bonded custodial account. Payment from the buyer is due upon receipt of the cattle. The cattle are shipped directly from the producer‘s farm or ranch to the buyer's destination.

Internet Auctions
Our eCowAuctions are Internet Auctions with many of the same benefits as our Video Auctions:
- Field Representatives are available throughout the process to ensure a smooth transaction
- Costs are reduced
- Competitive bidding results in the most accurate pricing
- Cattle remain healthier
- Producers and buyers can participate from the comfort of their own office or home
eCowAuctions, which are ideal for marketing breeding stock, have the added benefit of taking place over an extended bidding window of several days, so buyers can place bids at their convenience. High quality photos are posted for buyers to view, with the assurance that what they see is what they will get! Buyers may even choose to visit the cattle on location during the time of the auction.
MCM‘s process is unique among Internet Auctions, as our competitors‘ events are often characterized by adverse weather conditions or poor quality streaming video transmitted from outdoor locations on a single sale day. Our eCowAuctions are true Internet Cattle Auctions, similar in format to other Internet auctions. With our eCowAuctions format, cattle are protected from the health risks of a sale barn environment.
